What is air cargo insurance?
Air cargo insurance covers goods while they're transported by air, protecting against physical damage, loss and theft from the time they leave the warehouse until they're delivered. The shipper, the consignee or the carrier can arrange it, depending on the sales terms and the contract of carriage.
The premium and the scope of cover depend on the value of the cargo, the route and the nature of the goods. Policies typically cover the full insured value and can include accidents, theft, fire, handling damage and, for sensitive cargo, temperature deviations.
Cover we can tailor
- 01
Single-shipment cover
Insure one consignment at a time — ideal for occasional or unusually valuable shipments.
- 02
Annual open cover
Every air shipment is covered automatically at agreed rates; you simply declare them as they fly.
- 03
Cold-chain cover
For pharmaceuticals and perishables that must stay within a set temperature range.
- 04
High-value cover
For electronics, precious goods and samples, with security conditions agreed up front.
For international traders and businesses moving high-value or time-critical goods, air cargo insurance provides financial protection against the losses that speed alone can't prevent.
